The KKL in Luzern is one of the countries newest concert halls.
It’s major feature, at least from outside, is the amazing cantilever roof.
Designed by Jean Nouvel, it fits in neatly with all of the historic buildings that Luzern has to offer, and is beautiful to look at, especially from one of the boats as they leave or arrive.

I’m going there this weekend to visit two friends from England, Jill and Phil.
I hope I’ll be able to get to see this building, at Bernadino Luini 12.

Not sure I should publicise the bank that made me redundant (twice!) but it’s one of Botta’s so, here it is.

Part of my daily ritual is to check the headlines on the Daily Telegraph, surely one of the finest online newspapers there is.
On a more infrequent basis, I also read Private Eye, the satirical current affairs magazine.
Why do I tell you this? Because one of Private Eye’s most common digs at the Torygraph (as the Telegraph is also known) is that it tends to use pictures of scantily clad females in newsworthy situations, presumably to boost circulation. I think I’m talking about number of copies sold, rather than circulation of blood, but you can never be too sure.

I discovered at the weekend that there is a camera museum at Vevey.
It contains exhibits like the first ever production Leica, see above.
The museum is set on Lake Geneva, not far from Chateau Chillon and covers photography from it’s beginnings just over a century ago, right up to today. It covers techniques as well as equipment, with features on the inventors of milestone equipment.
The permanent exhibition features magic lanterns, camera obscura etc, in a 500 square metre setting. And photographers past and present are featured in regularly changing special exhibitions.
For youngsters, there are many games and hands-on installations.
